God "Curing" Homosexuality (or not)

So many gays and lesbians have been mentally scarred by religious zealots determined to shame them into renouncing their sexual orientation.  The God of Fundies gives them a choice:  Either repudiate your natural predilection - or face an eternity of suffering.  The young man in the first clip claims to have been "cured" of homosexuality (and his problems with substance abuse) through the power of prayer.  (Warning: The video is not easy to watch.)  Evan Hurst writes on Truth Wins Out:  Jacob, I don’t know who you are, but these people are predators. Your sexuality is part of you, and it has nothing to do with your drug addictions. And you don’t beat addiction to drugs by exchanging it for a dependency on profit-based faux-spiritual experiences.  (Exploiting the weak and confused is what evangelicals do best.)

In the second clip, a woman describes how the Holy Spirit "healed" her ruptured disc - and even helps her cats "get along with each other."  (I also have disc problems and quarrelsome kitties.  Who knew finding relief was so easy?)
