Okay, wow. Very good story. In fact, it carries the mark of a great story... I wanted it to go on.

BAT on, girlfriend!

OOps. Sorry for the erroneous gender reference. I thought I was on a different blog.

You can call me girl if you want to. ;)

Very funny story! I love the hypenated names idea... and Room 666... lol

have you read "A Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood?
it's somewhat similar in feel -- and just as frightening.

Yes, I read that many years ago. Loved it. The movie was disappointing, though.

Great story, imaginative, and scary. (I like your cat photos, too.)

Thanks, C Woods. I do love my kitties.

I didn't read this verson of the story till now - I read the earlier version you posted in the fall. That one was good, but this is so much better! I really like the new opening, with Miss Bridle in her apartment. It fleshes out her character. Actually, I wanted that scene to go even longer. But now that I know her, I'm wondering what;s gonna happen when she goes home that night after school. These are so many things that could happen. Will you be expanding it again later? Oy maybe write another story? You should. Maybe tell another story with different characters, set in this same strange future. I dunno, just a thought, Loved it! Want more.

What a great story. Every small detail... even the name of cigarettes. I think that translates into "Lucky Friends" Lol.. and Sally Kern Cox? Too funny.

Great story. Very well written and a terrifying prospect.

Very Orwellian, but frightfully familiar. Nice write.
