Joe the Plumber whose first name isn't Joe and who isn't a plumber is now poised to become Joe the War Correspondent who isn't a war correspondent and whose first name still isn't Joe. Samuel J. Wurzelbacher will be jetting to Israel to engage in some tough in-depth reporting for the right-wing website, Pajamas TV. (Okay, maybe it's not MSNBC, but a fella has to start somewhere.) Wurzelbacher's mission? "To get the, often lost, Israeli reason for the offensive against Hamas!"
Joe the War Correspondent sez: "I get to go over there and let their Average Joes share their story, what they think, how they feel, especially with world opinion, maybe get a real story out there." (Hear that, CNN? A real story.) From Toledo on the Move: The 10-day journey hopes to answer that question, by talking with Israeli citizens without a politically correct filter. Thousands have died in the fighting. Joe knows the danger is very real, but believes his civic duty is once again calling him to do something bigger than himself. (Once again?) "Being a Christian I'm pretty well protected by God I believe. That's not saying he's going to stop a mortar for me, but you gotta take the chance." (Eat your heart out, Anderson Cooper.)
But who exactly are these people that have given Mr. Twelve Pack a day job? On its About Page, PJTV describes itself: Pajamas Media (PJM) was established in 2004 and is a network of about 100 bloggers that covers news and issues of the day in a refreshingly thoughtful and civil way. You'll forgive us, PJ, if we doubt your claim to thoughtful civility since one of your premier voices is the repugnacious Michelle Malkin. (Ms. Malkin famously wrote "Cry me a river" to a woman whose son had been killed in Iraq. She also accused John Kerry of shooting himself in the leg to acquire a purple heart.) Another "serious journalist" in Pajamas' stable of talent is conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt, who earlier this week penned a mushy tribute to George W. Bush and dismissed Dubya's critics as "14-year-olds with Internet connections.” Hugh Hewitt, the man who in October was pitching his just-completed How Sarah Palin Won the Election - and Saved America! to publishing houses across the country. (In case you're wondering, no one offered him a book deal.) A few clicks through PJTV's website will tell you all you need to know about the choir they're preaching to. And Wurzelbacher with his Republican credentials and Keating family ties should make a satisfactory infomation mule for this Fox News wannabe org. (Videos are available to subscribers.)
And hey, if the correspondent thing tanks, Wurzelbacher can always, y'know, fix their toilets. But wait. I keep forgetting. He doesn't do that. (image courtesy Zina Saunders © 2008)

I can't believe people still listen to that guy. He wasn't even relevant during the election, much less now.
