I can't take it any more. It seemed that the Hillary/Bill Clinton turmoil had distracted the fickle traditional media away from last month's round-the-clock target, Sarah Palin. I mean, after all, how could even Palin ever measure up to a juicy Clinton news nugget? But just when we thought there would be a respite from the Wasilla Wonder, today, The Politico reports:
A group dedicated to pushing Sarah Palin into the 2012 presidential race was formed last week and is already emailing Iowa Republicans
The "2012 Draft Sarah Committee" has a rudimentary website up showing the Alaska governor dishing out moose chili and appears to be composed of rank-and-file conservative activists.
Most of me wants to scream, "No more Palin," at least for the next two years. In the last days of this year's campaign, I had to put the TV on mute every time I thought Sarah's tinny, flat accent was about to come through the speakers. I didn't even find the Tina Fey impersonations of her funny anymore. I didn't care about TrooperGate, or Neiman Marcus-gate or any other Palin-inspired nonsense; I just want her to go away.
Then, my more cynical instincts take over and tell me that all self-respecting progressives need promote the Sarah-for-2012 mantra to the hilt because if the Republicans stake their future on Palin, the Democrats will be the majority party for years to come. So in the interest of propelling the right wing on their quest to obsolescence, the Sarah for 2012 website is here.
The website envisions a Republican Party free of RINOs (Republicans in Name Only). Now who exactly do the Palinites think the RINOs are? Oh yeah, everybody that doesn't think Sarah should be the nominee for President. The Draft Palin group posts a list of action steps to be taken, including: emailing your friends to sign up for the website's newsletter and attending any Palin speaking events if she shows up near you. You should also " buy buttons, bumper stickers and other promotional material to show your support and make others aware that Americans support her. Nothing like sharing a cup of coffee with your co-workers, drinking out of a 'Vote Sarah' mug."
Oh yeah, and "you can vote in our poll on the website." The online question is: In a matchup between Obama and Palin in 2012, who would win? Seems that Sarah's supporters haven't yet showed up to vote -- Barack is outpacing Sarah 97 percent to 3 percent.

Our website, www.draftpalinforpresident.com is doing very well.
Thanks,

I hope you do draft Palin. That will ensure another Democratic victory in 2012!
