Julie Myers resigns as leak inquiry looms.

Last year Immigration and Customs Enforcement Chief Julie Myers drew criticism when at her agency's Halloween party she awarded "most original costume" to an HSD employee who was attired in dreadlocks, prison stripes - and blackface.  Myers glibly claimed she didn't know that the employee was wearing dark makeup and ordered the photos destroyed.  (So she thought the partygoer was African-American?  Julie Julie Julie.  Didn't you notice the guys hands?)  After the digital pics re-surfaced back in February, Myers was lambasted by the press.  From Think Progress:  Myers has been a controversial figure since the day that President Bush nominated her. She was widely criticized as being a crony hire, being the daughter of former Air Force Gen. Richard Myers and possessing almost no immigration or customs experience. During her tenure, ICE was heavily criticized for carrying out politically-motivated immigration raids.

So now ladies and germs, less than a week after a "federal law enforcment official"  leaked information about the immigration status of President-elect Barack Obama's aunt, Julie Myers has abruptly resigned from office.  Due to the timing of the leak - mere days before the presidential election - House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers has demanded a prompt investigation into the matter.  Draw your own conclusions.

Regarding the Julie Myers story, I did draw my own conclusion. It would appear leftists are drifting into another conspiracy theory. I'm a former Democrat, now Independent, and one of the reasons is the extreme left of the Democratic Party. Much too radical for me, and I tend to like keeping my own money rather than being heavily taxed.

I met Julie Myers, i was falsely arrested by ICE on may 9, i nearly died. I recognised her when i was in Immigration jail and begged her for help, she said she would look into it: - she did, and to cover themselves, Immigration then created a deportation order,backdated , and served on my attorney two months after i had been arrested. My lawyer said it was dirty but we couldnt beat it. I lost 20 years of hard work, i still own a home and have a husband in Chicago, i am stuck in UK for next twenty years....i was in jail with Margaret, from Jamaica, who had resided in the USA on a valid greencard for over 30 years, she was in her 60's and fighting to stay with her nine children and eight us citizen grandchildren....so while she froze in that jail with me for a year, Julie was at a party giving a prize for THAT COSTUME.....why were we in jail? Cos julie wanted to have the best record of deportations....we were not Undocumented aliens, stealing us jobs, we were both tax paying citizens, I am still an IRS Enrolled Agent...but i am stuck in anoher country now, cos Julie's way of making her mark was to go after everyone who has ever tried and applied for a greencard, we were NOT fugitives, we were dragged out of our homes...where some of us waited 20 years for our files to be finalised.....I pray Julie takes a diplomatic job and gets posted to the Gaza Strip. For what she did to others without thought or conscience. She destroyed so many lives, minds and familys. At least we did not die, like Jason Ng did in custody. I saw so many people being mistreated, medications taken away from senior citizens made to suffer for months....I blame Ms. Myers directly as i met her, and saw while i spoke to her that her pupils were too large, and after she left the room, i realised she looked like so many other people i have seen who are on pills to get through the day. I am not a doctor, but i was in a room of 80 women some of whom had been prescribed medication by their doctors in the normal outside jail lives, and had been denied that medication, even schizophrenia medication, making thei rlives absolute hell. ~But Julie didnt care, it took ehr a while to focus on what i was telling her! after she left i just thought, 'wow, she looks doped!!'
