Rachel Maddow Gets her Own MSNBC Show
Yahoooooooooo! In the single smartest move ever made by a television network, MSNBC has given Rachel Maddow (aka the smartest kid in the room -- ANY room) her own show.
Keith Olbermann just leaked it over on Daily Kos.
Starts September 8th, airing at 9 p.m.
Here's some of what Keith said in the announcement:
Let me answer the key questions in advance:
- No, she will not be serving as a VeeJay introducing music clips or cartoons.
- No, I don't think we have the name of the show chosen yet. She wanted to use "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" and I said, that's where I draw the line.
- No, the format isn't set, though there have been a lot of discussions out there and they have all centered on how to best allow her to both give her laser-quality insights while soliciting the opinions of others.
- Yes, I had something to do with it.
- Yes, you had something to do with it.
- Yes, this is why I never really responded to any of the 41,754 comments that all pretty much read "And get Rachel her own show, nitwit."

You just got an on-air nod from Olbermann. Nice work.

I agree - for once a network does something right. Now if NBC would just recognize what a perfect fit she would be for Meet the Press ... can you just imagine ?!?!?

MSNBC just got a lot smarter. Now all they need to do is take Pat Buchanan's men's room key away from him. That's about the only way to get him out of the building!
